About the doctor
Dr. Amarender Singh Puri is the Vice Chairman of the Institute of Digestive & Hepatobiliary Sciences at Medanta Gurugram. He completed his MBBS and MD (Internal Medicine) from Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, before serving as a Lecturer in Medicine at CMC, Ludhiana for two years.
Dr. Puri then completed his DM in Gastroenterology from SGPGI, Lucknow in 1992, after which he joined GB Pant Hospital, Delhi, where he served as Associate Professor and later became the Professor & Head of the Medical Gastroenterology Department. He worked there for over two decades before joining Medanta.
Dr. Puri has received numerous accolades, including the Times Healthcare Award in 2017 and the Delhi Government State Award for Meritorious Service in 2014. He has authored many publications, articles, and chapters in national and international journals.
