She received the institutional bronze medal for exemplary academic performance and research interest. Pursuing her keen interest in paediatric and adolescent endocrine disorders, she went on to complete her sub-specialty training at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore, one of the largest paediatric referral centres in Karnataka.
