About:-Dr Avani Hegde has completed her MD in Paediatrics from the Advanced Paediatric Centre, PGIMER, Chandigarh, the apex referral centre for paediatrics in India. She received the institutional bronze medal for exemplary academic performance and research interest. Pursuing her keen interest in paediatric and adolescent endocrine disorders, she went on to complete her sub-specialty training at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore, one of the largest paediatric referral centres in Karnataka. Her entire medical training has provided exposure to a wide spectrum of paediatric and adolescent hormonal problems.
She is a faculty member of the Indian Society of Paediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology (ISPAE) Diabetes Education and Learning (IDEAL) module, which aims to encourage and train diabetes educators. She was previously associated with St. John’s Medical College as a faculty member. She is an active member of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics and the Indian Society for Paediatric and Adolescent Endocrinology. She has several national and international publications to her name. Dr Hegde is popular among children and parents for her dedicated and meticulous clinical care.
