Dr. Akash Dhuru

Dr. Akash Dhuru is a Consultant Surgical Oncologist practicing in Mumbai with more than 11 years of clinical experience in cancer care. He completed his MBBS from Padmashree Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College, Navi Mumbai, followed by a Master's in General Surgery from the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. He then completed his super-speciality training in DrNB Surgical Oncology at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai. He has also completed the Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (FMAS) from AMASI, the Fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in Oncology from IAGES and the Fellowship in Advanced Robotic and Innovative Surgery (FARIS). Dr. Dhuru has independently performed numerous major cancer surgeries and has worked with renowned oncology teams across Mumbai. His expertise includes the surgical management of breast cancer, head and neck cancer, oral cancer, thyroid cancer, salivary gland tumors, esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, liver and pancreatic tumors, soft tissue sarcomas, skin cancers and other solid organ malignancies. He has a special interest in minimally invasive, laparoscopic and robotic cancer surgery, offering advanced surgical techniques whenever clinically appropriate. Dr. Dhuru believes in providing personalized, evidence-based treatment through a multidisciplinary approach to achieve the best possible outcomes for his patients. He is a member of the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Indian Association of Surgical Oncology (IASO), Indian Society of Oncology (ISO) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). He has actively participated in and conducted scientific conferences, workshops and educational programs across the country. He has also contributed to several scientific publications and research projects. Apart from his clinical work, Dr. Dhuru is actively involved in community service and cancer awareness initiatives. He has participated in and conducted multiple cancer screening camps, oral cancer screening programs, women's cancer awareness sessions and community outreach activities to promote early cancer detection and cancer prevention.
