Designated as faculty (Astt Prof) at Armed Forces Medical College (affiliated to MUHS) from July 2020 to Aug 2023. Actively involved in UG and PG training activities. 2021- till date. Holding the appointment of Head of Department psychiatry at military Hospital Kirkee Pune (Tertiary Care Hospital and Spinal Injury Centre) since July 2020. The centre receives inpatient and outpatient psychiatry referrals from 5 military primary health care centres of Kirkee cantonment area along with referrals from Military Hospitals located in Aurangabad, Khadakwasla, Ahmednagar, Kamptee and Station Medical Centre of Airforce located at Nagpur. Serving the role of specialist Advisor to board of medical officers, recommending employability restrictions, advice on sheltered employment for diagnosed cases of mental illnesses with an aim to help them rehabilitate, continue in military service and integrate in society. Working with team of Spine Surgeons, Joint replacement surgeons, Orthopaedic Surgeons , General surgeons catering assistance to psychological issues of paraplegic and quadriplegic patients and managing Post Op Delirium. Vast experience in consultation liaison along with GE Physicians , Neurologists, cardiologists and General physicians for cases of somatoform disorders, Psychogenic non epileptic seizures, panic disorders, psychiatric manifestations of neurological disorders, conversion and dissociative disorders and behavioural control for ICU patients in Delirium. Vast experience in consultation liaison with Dermatologists, ENT specialist for cases like Delusional Parasitosis, Body Dysmorphic Disorders. Working in consultation liaison with Gynaecologists and Obstetricians for cases of premenstrual Dysphoric Disorders, issues related to menopause, post partum depression and psychosis with in depth knowledge of prescription in pregnancy and breast feeding. Experience in pharmacotherapy and Behavioural therapy, parental/family role guidance for Childhood and Geriatric disorders including Dementia, Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADHD and managing other cross referrals from Paediatricians for behavioural and psychological issues in children. In depth knowledge of prescription variations in paediatric and geriatric population. Consultation liaison with Radiologists for cases of anxiety and phobias related to radiographic procedures like CT and MRI and exploration of possible syndromal illness in such patients. Coordinating and assisting Alcoholics Anonymous meetings at Military Hospital Kirkee Pune for past 3 yrs. Vast experience in managing Substance Use Disorders providing treatment for substance withdrawal, intoxication using evidence based pharmacological and psychotherapeutic techniques. First hand experience in managing delirium tremens, medication assisted passage of withdrawal in cases of alcohol use disorders, induction and maintenance of buprenorphine/methadone in patients of opioid use disorders, managing respiratory depression in cases of opioid intoxication.
