Last year, on the 12th of June 2022, I started experiencing health problems while I was in Delhi, enduring the high temperatures of summer for the first time. The first symptom I noticed was a significant decrease in the amount of urine I was passing. Concerned about my condition, I returned home and sought medical help from Dr. Dibyajyoti Kalita at Swasta Medical Care on the 20th of June. By that time, my situation had worsened as I wasn't urinating at all, and my legs had swollen up, causing excruciating pain from my waist down. This pain was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. After thorough examination, Dr. Kalita diagnosed me with acute Chronic Kidney Disorder and high creatinine levels. To treat my condition, Dr. Kalita recommended dialysis, a process in which a machine helps filter and cleanse the blood when the kidneys can't perform this function adequately. I underwent a total of six dialysis sessions, each lasting for different durations, over a span of time with gaps of around 42-48 hours in between. In total, I received 32 hours of dialysis. Despite my initial fears and misconceptions about dialysis becoming a routine process, I found that my experience with it was quite different. The treatment was instrumental in aiding my recovery, and today, after a year, I am pleased to say that my kidneys have fully recovered. I wanted to share my experience to encourage others not to hesitate when considering dialysis as a treatment option. Looking back, I believe that the cause of my illness was the consumption of energy drinks, particularly Sting in my case. The extreme weather conditions in Delhi likely exacerbated the negative effects of these beverages on my kidneys. In conclusion, my journey to recovery under the care of Dr. Kalita was successful, and I am grateful for the support and treatment I received. Dialysis played a crucial role in restoring my health, and I hope my review helps others understand the importance of timely and appropriate medical intervention when facing kidney-related issues or any health problems in general.
