He was trained as a Fellow under the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, London, UK. His field of expertise include General Surgery, Gastroenterology Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Thyroid Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Gastroenterological Endoscopy, ERCP and therapeutic endoscopy, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Pancreatic surgery oesophageal reconstruction Portal Hypertension surgery. He has been a part of many prestigious institutions including Trauma unit, UK.He was a team leader of first liver transplant done in sion hospital in maharastra.He took active part in the donor organ distribution committee ZTCC of Mumbai In an academic career spanning almost two decades, Dr. Trivedi has trained undergraduate and postgraduate students. He was Prof. and HOD of Surgery at T.N.M.C and B.Y.L Nair Hospital from September 1980 to June 1988.
