Unlike a lot of doctors who breeze through generic symptoms of a patient in a maximum of 10 to 15 minutes per patient, Dr Pradnya spared close an hour during each of our appointments to go into the depths of my father's condition and understood the nuances of what he was going through before prescribing him any medicines. She remained available for follow ups and queries over WhatsApp, putting us at ease. Made minor tweaks to the dosages if we reported that certain medicines were causing severe drowsiness. She also came down for a home consultation when his situation got a bit extreme and spent a good measure of time in re-assessing the changes since her previous evaluation to modify her line of treatment. Her second iteration of medicines - a combination of an SSRI , an atypical anti-psychotic and a neuroprotective supplement following an extremely astute diagnosis worked effectively for my father and his mental health drastically improved within 10 days. Hugely grateful to her for keeping it to a low dose psychiatric stabilization regimen rather than something that keeps him fast asleep through the day. His withdrawal from all his usual activities has come to an end and he's back to being an involved, active and mentally stable, even happy and composed person again. When it comes to sensitive matters such as Psychiatry, Mumbai needs more clear-headed, professional and yet warm and approachable doctors like this!
