Dr. Siddhesh Rajiwade

I am an obstetrician and gynecologist, subspecialised in maternal fetal medicine. I pursued my postgraduation in premiere institute Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry following which I worked as a senior resident for 2 years in the same before getting into the fellowship in maternal fetal medicine in renown institute Fernandez hospital, Hyderabad. Currently I am working as an assistant professor in Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital and runs a special OPD -perinatology OPD on Wednesday. During fellowship I got trained in managing mothers with medical disorders like hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiac disease, connective tissue disorder in addition to those with obstetric problems like recurrent pregnancy losses, fetal growth restriction, oligohydramnios, fetal structural defects, mothers with previous babies with genetic disorders etc. I also perform sonographies in pregnant and non-pregnant women including early pregnancy sonography, NT scan, anomaly scan, fetal ECHO, neurosonogram, fetal growth, Doppler, biophysical profile, USG pelvis, follicular monitoring etc. I am also trained in performing fetal invasive procedures like chorionic villus sampling, amniocentesis, cordocentesis, radiofrequency ablation, intrauterine transfusion etc. Variety of cases of fetal anomalies which I come across in Wadia hospital teach me a lot. I am a strong proponent of a normal vaginal birth and avoids LSCS as far as possible. I do conduct instrumental births wherever necessary. I am hard core clinician and compassionate, respectful, maternal care , ethical practice and clinical diagnosis before lab diagnosis will be indispensable part of my practice. As a gynaecologist I do look after non pregnant women and also perform gynaecological surgeries like D and C, open or vaginal hysterectomy and laparoscopic surgeries etc. I believe in evidence based practice and involving patient in decision making.
