Dr Manjula S. Patil is a well-known obstetrician and gynaecologist with over 22 years in the field. She began her career as an Assistant Professor at one of Karnataka’s esteemed universities, SDM Institute of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad. Dr Manjula has worked in seven different districts across Karnataka, both as faculty and a private practitioner, gaining a wealth of experience in addressing women’s health needs and expectations.
Having delivered over 6,000 babies, Dr Manjula is recognised for her expertise in high vaginal and instrumental deliveries. She is also known for performing rare obstetric surgeries, such as caesarean myomectomy (fibroid removal during caesarean section) and emergency cerclage (stitching an open cervix). Her dedication provides hope to couples experiencing repeated miscarriages, and her risk-taking nature has helped many mothers prolong their pregnancies to full term.
Dr Manjula is passionate about women’s healthcare and preventive care, frequently giving health talks and participating in health camps through webinars, Facebook Live sessions, newspaper articles, and school and community programmes. During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, she was associated with 'STEP ONE', a non-profit startup of healthcare professionals, where she provided teleconsultation to 1,800 COVID-19 patients.
She began her gynaecological laparoscopy training by assisting expert surgeons and later completed her Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery (F.MAS) from World Laparoscopy Hospital, Delhi, under Dr R.K. Mishra. Dr Manjula now offers a full range of minor and major laparoscopic surgeries, providing care in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Dr Manjula is also an expert in high-risk obstetrics and scarless natural orifice Non-Descent Vaginal Hysterectomy (NDVH).
