About:-Dr. Sai Shankar is a Pediatric and Neonatal Intensivist, specialising in Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). He completed his MBBS from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College, Bangalore, and his MD in Pediatrics from Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute.
Dr. Sai’s advanced training includes a Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care from Southampton Children's Hospital, UK, and a Fellowship in Neonatal Intensive Care from Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, UK. He further enhanced his expertise by pursuing a specialised Fellowship in Pediatric ECMO and Cardiac Critical Care at The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, Australia.
Dr. Sai’s clinical and academic interests encompass organ physics, cardiopulmonary interactions, and sepsis management. His core expertise includes pediatric ECMO, retrieval of critically ill children, and high-fidelity medical simulation. Throughout his career, he has conducted nearly 400 retrievals of ventilated children, including ECMO cases, via air, land, and water.
