Dr Sharath S Ghalige is a paediatrician and neonatologist with experience from multiple quarters. After completing his MBBS and internship (2008) from KIMS, Bangalore, he completed his paediatric residency and Diploma in Child Health (DCH) at Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi, in 2011.
For a short stint, he worked as a specialist at a rural Community Health Centre through the Government of Karnataka. After that, he completed his MD (Paediatrics) in 2014 from JJM Medical College, Davangere. To pursue his interest in newborn care, he completed his DM (Neonatology) at the Institute of Child Health (ICH), Madras Medical College, Chennai.
He is an active member of the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) and the National Neonatology Forum (NNF), among other academic medical associations. His special interests include non-invasive ventilation, kangaroo mother care (KMC), developmentally supportive care of preterm babies, infant and young child feeding (IYCF), and breastfeeding promotion, among other paediatric issues.
