Dr. Somesh Srivastava is an Internal Medicine specialist with a strong academic foundation and broad clinical exposure. He completed both his MBBS and MD (Medicine) from King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, where he also pursued Senior Residency in the Department of Medicine. During this period, he gained extensive experience in managing critically ill patients in MICU, HDU, and Emergency (METC), as well as patients requiring dialysis and long-term inpatient care.
He has served in multiple roles, including Junior Resident, Senior Resident, and Senior Registrar, before assuming his current position as Associate Consultant in the Division of Internal Medicine at Medanta Hospital, Lucknow. His clinical expertise covers a wide spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions, with proficiency in procedures such as resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, central line and dialysis catheter insertion, lumbar puncture, and bedside ultrasound (POCUS). He also actively contributed to COVID-19 duty.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Srivastava has a keen interest in academic medicine. His postgraduate thesis on organophosphorus poisoning was later published in the Indian Journal of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. He has attended and presented at several national and international conferences, with a focus on acute care, echocardiography, and diabetes management. He has also completed specialized Certificate Course in Evidence-Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM).
Dr. Srivastava is committed to evidence-based, patient-centered care and actively participates in quality initiatives, including contributing to Joint Commission International (JCI) compliance at Medanta.
