Dr. Swathi G T, a Women’s Health Physiotherapist and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) based in Bangalore. Dr. Swathi has over a decade of professional experience spanning clinical physiotherapy, maternal-antenatal/postnatal physiotherapy, and healthcare education, along with lactation services. Her work involves antenatal exercise counselling, postnatal exercise, lactation management, supporting the initiation of golden-hour breastfeeding, and managing complex breastfeeding challenges, including NICU feeding, relactation, nipple confusion, and feeding issues in special-needs infants. On the gynaecology front, she deals with complex cases of vaginismus, urinary incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, diastasis recti, low back pain and many such conditions. In addition to her clinical practice, she conducts regular prenatal education programs. She is also the National assessor for Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) and develops breastfeeding documentation systems aligned with Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) principles, and works closely with obstetric and pediatric teams to improve breastfeeding practices within hospital settings. Dr. Swathi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from Hosmat College of Physiotherapy and an MBA, along with certifications in childbirth education, pregnancy fitness, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and infant and young child feeding, Advanced Certificate in Lactation, IBCLC and has been certified as the National Trainer for Lactation by BPNI Her work is driven by a strong commitment to evidence-based maternal care, breastfeeding advocacy, and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes.
